About Avamys
Dosage and usage
For adults and children over 12 years old, the usual dose is two sprays into each nostril once a day. For children aged 6 to 11, the recommended dose is one spray into each nostril once a day. Do not exceed the recommended dose. The effects of Avamys may not be immediate and can take a few days to build up. If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose.
What Avamys contains
Each spray of Avamys contains 27.5 micrograms of fluticasone furoate. The nasal spray also contains microcrystalline cellulose, carmellose sodium, dextrose, polysorbate 80, purified water, and the preservatives benzalkonium chloride and phenylethyl alcohol.
Side effects
Common side effects of Avamys may include nosebleeds, headache, and nasal discomfort. Serious side effects are rare but may include nasal ulceration, glaucoma, or cataracts. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe nasal bleeding, sudden wheezing, or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as rash, itching, or swelling.
Precautions
Do not use Avamys if you are allergic to fluticasone furoate or any other ingredients in the spray. Avoid using Avamys if you have recently had nasal surgery or injury. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have tuberculosis, fungal, viral, or bacterial infections, consult your doctor before using Avamys. If you have a history of glaucoma, cataracts, or any other eye problems, inform your healthcare provider before using this nasal spray.
