Cardura

Each Cardura tablet contains 1 mg, 2 mg, 4 mg, or 8 mg of the active ingredient doxazosin. The tablets also contain various excipients such as lactose, magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate, and microcrystalline cellulose.

Common side effects of Cardura may include dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, headache, and swelling in your hands or feet. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention include a prolonged erection (priapism), fainting, chest pain, and signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing.

Before taking Cardura, inform your doctor if you have liver disease, low blood pressure, or a history of fainting. Do not use Cardura if you are allergic to doxazosin or similar medications. Cardura may cause dizziness or fainting, especially when you first start taking it or when the dose is increased. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how Cardura affects you. If you experience a prolonged erection lasting more than 4 hours, seek immediate medical help. Additionally, consult your healthcare provider before using Cardura if you have heart problems or are taking other medications.
