You should take Competact as prescribed by your doctor. The typical starting dose is one tablet once daily with food, but your doctor may adjust this based on your response. The maximum recommended dose is four tablets daily. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's almost time for your next dose. If you take too much Competact, seek medical advice immediately. Competact's effects can last throughout the day, helping to keep your blood sugar levels stable.

Each Competact tablet contains pioglitazone hydrochloride (15 mg or 30 mg) and metformin hydrochloride (850 mg or 1,000 mg). The tablets also contain other ingredients like povidone, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, and macrogol.

Common side effects of Competact include nausea, diarrhoea, and headache. Serious side effects may include signs of lactic acidosis like muscle pain, difficulty breathing, or severe dizziness. If you experience symptoms of lactic acidosis or any allergic reaction such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing, seek immediate medical help.c

Do not take Competact if you have kidney problems, heart failure, or metabolic acidosis. Inform your doctor about any heart conditions or if you are taking medications like insulin or blood thinners. Competact is not suitable for children, pregnant women, or those with severe liver disease.
