Emla cream

Apply a thick layer of Emla Cream to the skin where the procedure will take place, then cover with a dressing to keep it in place. The recommended dose and application time may vary based on the procedure and your healthcare provider's instructions. Generally, Emla Cream should be applied at least 1 hour before the procedure. Do not exceed the recommended dose or apply to large areas of skin. Each gram of Emla Cream contains 25 mg of lidocaine and 25 mg of prilocaine as active ingredients. It also includes other components such as carbomer, sodium hydroxide, purified water, and more as excipients to ensure stability and effectiveness.

Common side effects of Emla Cream may include redness, itching, or swelling at the application site. Serious side effects like methemoglobinemia (a blood disorder) or severe allergic reactions are rare but require immediate medical attention. If you notice symptoms like shortness of breath, dizziness, or irregular heartbeat, seek prompt medical help.

Avoid using Emla Cream if you have a known allergy to lidocaine, prilocaine, or any other ingredients in the cream. This product is not intended for use on certain skin conditions like eczema or irritated skin.
