About Etoricoxib
Dosage and usage
For osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis, the usual dose is 60 mg once a day. For gout, the recommended dose is 120 mg once a day. You should take Etoricoxib exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Do not exceed the recommended dose. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
What Etoricoxib contains
Each Etoricoxib tablet contains 60 mg or 120 mg of etoricoxib as the active ingredient. The tablets also contain other ingredients such as calcium hydrogen phosphate, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and lactose.
Side effects
Common side effects of Etoricoxib may include headache, dizziness, stomach pain, and heartburn. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention include signs of heart attack or stroke, stomach bleeding, liver problems, and allergic reactions. If you experience chest pain, weakness, slurred speech, or difficulty breathing, seek medical help right away.
Precautions
Do not take Etoricoxib if you have a history of allergic reactions to NSAIDs or if you are pregnant. Avoid Etoricoxib if you have severe heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or a history of stomach ulcers. Inform your healthcare provider about any medications you are currently taking, especially blood thinners, as they may interact with Etoricoxib. If you have any underlying medical conditions, speak to your doctor before starting Etoricoxib.
