Gemfibrozil

Gemfibrozil tablets contain 600 mg of gemfibrozil as the active ingredient. The tablets also include excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, povidone, and magnesium stearate.

Common side effects of Gemfibrozil may include stomach pain, diarrhoea, and muscle pain. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention include signs of liver problems (e.g., persistent nausea, stomach/abdominal pain, yellowing eyes/skin) and signs of a severe allergic reaction (e.g., rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing).

Do not take Gemfibrozil if you have severe liver or kidney disease, gallbladder disease, or if you are allergic to gemfibrozil. Inform your healthcare provider about all your medical conditions, especially if you have a history of gallstones, diabetes, or hypothyroidism.
