Dosage and usage
You should take Reminyl exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. The typical starting dose is 4 mg twice a day, preferably with morning and evening meals. Your doctor may gradually increase your dose to help minimize side effects. The maximum recommended dose is 24 mg per day. It may take several weeks to experience the full benefits of Reminyl. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to catch up.
What Reminyl contains
Each Reminyl prolonged-release capsule contains 8 mg or 16 mg of Galantamine (as hydrobromide). The capsules also contain additional ingredients such as microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, talc, and methacrylic acid ethyl acrylate copolymer.
Side effects
Common side effects of Reminyl may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, and weight loss. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention include fainting, chest pain, slow heartbeat, difficulty urinating, and seizures.
