Requip

You should take Requip exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. The typical starting dose is 0.25 mg three times a day. Your doctor may gradually increase this dose based on your response. The maximum recommended dose is 24 mg per day. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's almost time for your next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose. If you have any concerns about your dosage, speak to your doctor. If you experience any unusual side effects or your symptoms worsen, contact your healthcare provider immediately.

Each Requip tablet contains ropinirole hydrochloride equivalent to 0.25 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg, 5 mg, or 8 mg of ropinirole. The tablets also include microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 400, 8000, and red and yellow iron oxides (E172).

Common side effects of Requip may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and headache. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention include hallucinations, severe dizziness, fainting, or mental/mood changes. If you experience chest pain, signs of heart failure, or a fast/irregular heartbeat, seek medical help right away.

Do not take Requip if you are allergic to ropinirole or any other ingredients in the formulation. Inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have liver or kidney problems. Some medications may interact with Requip, so inform your healthcare provider about all the drugs you are currently taking. If you have heart conditions or are on medications that affect your heart rhythm, discuss with your doctor before starting Requip. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before using this medication.
